The History Series at Salisbury House & Gardens is an educational and cultural program for all ages. In addition to the evening lectures, The Salisbury House Foundation works with the Des Moines Public Schools to sponsor an interactive session between the historian and talented and gifted high school students, scheduled in conjunction with each presentation in this lecture series. Students are given materials in advance. This program provides students with a rare opportunity to delve deeper into the historian's subject.

In its mission as a museum, the primary focus of the Salisbury House Foundation is to utilize Salisbury House & Gardens as an educational resource. That goal is being met through a number of cultural programs sponsored at Salisbury House & Gardens.

The Salisbury House Foundation invites you to share in this extraordinary experience. Tickets are limited so your early advance reservation is suggested.

The History Series is possible thanks to the generous support of Harry Bookey and Pamela Bass-Bookey, and Fred and Charlotte Hubbell. Special thanks also to Clark Smith and Lauren Kernan-Smith from the Butler House on Grand Avenue for providing rooms and accommodations for History Series speakers.

Our next lectures are scheduled for March 9, 2010 and April 29, 2010. For tickets please call us at 515-274-1777.

We are registered with the National Register of Historic Places
Iowa Museum Association

Due to the historic nature of Salisbury House, the museum and gardens has limited assistance for handicap accessibility.  Please call during business hours for further information and every effort will be made to accommodate your needs.
